Netflix announced on Thursday the development of a live-action series of the popular video game saga « Resident Evil », created by Capcom.
According to Deadline, the fiction will be written by Andrew Dabb, co-creator of the « Supernatural » series, and produced by Constantin Film, the makers of the six films that made the franchise. A release date has yet to be confirmed.
The new series will address two different timelines across eight episodes. The first will follow the 14-year-old brothers Jade and Billie Wesker, sons of Albert Wesker -one of the antagonists of the video game saga-, while the second will go almost a decade into the future showing an apocalyptic new world in which the infected they are taking control.
Dabb specified that the production will include references to video games, « Easter eggs » and the appearance of old characters.
