“I Hope Giannis Does Like A Michael Jordan Or Dirk Nowitzki. I Hope He Becomes The Champion, Not Just Jump To Another Organization. I Could Join A Super Team And Win, But I Wanna Still Have My Whole Legacy, And Identity.’” – Fadeaway World

Fadeaway World

The Milwaukee Bucks’ season is over. The Miami Heat got the best of them in the second round of the playoffs and now they don’t have anything else to do but plan ahead to the offseason.

The Bucks’ organization must have one thing and one thing in mind only: keeping Giannis Antetokounmpo, who may sign the largest contract extension in NBA history or walk away as a free agent in 2021.

There has been a lot of speculation regarding Giannis’ future and even though he recently claimed that he’s not going to force a trade because he knows how difficult it is to win a ring, there are still some people who believe he won’t be on Bucks’ threads next season.

That’s why Charles Barkley opened up to claim that he truly hopes that Giannis doesn’t jump the boat and rathers try to win an NBA Championship on his own and build a winning culture like Michael Jordan and Dirk Nowitzki did:

“I hope Giannis does like a Michael Jordan or Dirk Nowitzki. Don’t just be a champ and try to join another organization, battle through it.” He said, “I hope he becomes the champion, not just jump to another organization. I hope he signs the max deal this year and say ‘I’m gonna win in Milwaukee. I could join a super team and win, but I wanna still have my whole legacy, and identity,” Barkley said.

Both Jordan and Dirk had to endure tough seasons when they entered the league. They were both questioned. Giannis is just 25 years old and even though the expectations are astronomically high around him, we should kill that ‘Championship-or-bust’ narrative.

Giannis is yet to reach his prime and he still has a lot of basketball left. Jordan didn’t win until he was in his 7th season, LeBron couldn’t pull it off for almost a decade. Hopefully, Giannis will win on his own.
